CASE: GUT INSTINCTS
S: Steve Roberts is a 22-year-old male who complains of diffuse abdominal pain over the past 24 hours. He also has no appetite. Patient indicates that pain comes and goes, but is currently in considerable pain.
O: Patient has pain in the back. Blood found in urine. Tapping ½ way up the back to the left and right of the spine produces no pain, just discomfort. Severe pain upon palpation of right lower quadrant of the abdomen.
How would you handle this case?
